CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR Could Have a Tie in to Netflix's LUKE CAGE

Even though the Marvel cinematic universe is connected through its films and TV shows, there hasn't been any real crossover between the films and the Netflix series. There seems to be a growing disconnect between these things, but today we've learned that Captain America: Civil War could feature an unexpected link to the Netflix series Luke Cage.

A list of Captain American: Civil War cast members who are attending the upcoming world premiere of the film next week was sent out to several press outlets. That list of cast members included Alfre Woodard. Woodward was going to make her debut as Mariah Dillard in the Netflix series Luke Cage.

Dillard is a powerful New York politician from Harlem. She is looking to bring a new era of change to the streets she grew up on. Her life gets very complicated with Luke Cage comes into the picture as well as her cousin Cottonmouth, who is causing problems.

Marvel hasn't confirmed who exactly Woodard would be playing in Civil War, but it would be weird, confusing, and unusual if she played a different character. If Woodard does end up playing Dillard in Captain America: Civil War, it would be the first reference to a Marvel Netflix show in a Marvel movie.

Of course, Woodard isn't the only Luke Cage cast member that will be going to the Captain America: Civil War premiere. Mike Colter (Luke Cage) will attend, as will cast members from Daredevil and Marvel's Agents of SHIELD. They are all listed as "Special Guests" though, not cast members.
