CAPTAIN AMERICA Director Joe Johnston Set to Helm New Narnia Film THE SILVER CHAIR

The Narnia films have been rather successful for a franchise. Especially when considering all the giants it's been up against. Harry Potter, every superhero film, Twilight. But over the years Narnia has still held strong. Well, the next film in the franchise, which will be an adaptation of The Silver Chair, looks to continue that strength by hiring Joe Johnston to direct.

Joe Johnston is a fantastic director known for helming films such as Jumanji, the first Captain America film, and The Rocketeer, which is one of my personal favorites. He's very good at understanding characters and relationships, especially on a smaller more intimate level. I think he would be a great choice for this film and so does Mark Gordon, C.S. Lewis's stepson who's production company will be teaming up for this film. He said this of Johnston:

"Joe is a wonderful storyteller who is equally at home in the biggest franchises and the most intimate character pieces. Because C.S. Lewis' story is iconic and epic, but also tender, personal, and emotional, he's the perfect choice to bring 'The Silver Chair' to the screen."

The Silver Chair will serve as both a reboot and sequel to the Chronicles of Narnia film franchise. Let's hope that audiences are ready to continue the adventure.
