CAPTAIN MARVEL and CHAOS WALKING Screenwriters Set To Write Sony Pictures' SILVER AND BLACK
Sony Pictures is moving forward with their Silver Sable and Black Cat Marvel movie Silver and Black. They've hired Lindsey Beer and Geneva Robertson-Dworet to write the script. Beer worked on the upcoming films Chaos Walking, M.A.S.K., and Dungeons and Dragons. Robertson-Dworet worked on Captain Marvel and Tomb Raider.
There have been a lot of rumors and speculation regarding this movie and what the story will entail, you can read up on those here in case you missed them or need a refresher. What we do know for sure is that the movie will focus on the mercenary war criminal hunter, Silver Sable and the burglar-turned-street-hero Black Cat.
Silver Sable is the leader of a band of mercenaries known as the Wild Pack. Black Cat, a.k.a. Felicia Hardy, was previously played by Felicity Jones in The Amazing Spider-Man 2. She's a former cat burglar, who became a crime fighter when she became romantically involved with Spider-Man. Felicia has the ability to instill "bad luck" around others, which comes in handy when she's fighting crime.
We still don't know for sure if Spider-Man will be involved. There's been a lot of conflicting information on if he will be involved or not in Sony Pictures' Spider-verse movies.
Silver and Black will be directed by Gina Prince-Bythewood (Cloak and Dagger, Beyond the Lights, Shots Fired). She wrote the initial draft of the script with Chris Yost (Thor: Ragnarok) and Lisa Joy (Westworld). With two new writers coming on board to write the script, any of the previously rumored details could be thrown out the window.
The movie is set to open February 8, 2019.
