CAPTAIN MARVEL Motion Poster Reminds Us There Are Still 100 More Days Before It's Released

Marvel has released a new motion poster for Captain Marvel teasing 100 more days until the highly anticipated film flies into theaters.

My first thought when I saw this was, “we really need to wait 100 more days before this movie is released!?” The poster features Brie Larson's Carol Danvers all decked out in her costume as her energizing powers start forming up around her arms.

I can’t wait to see how this story for Captain Marvel plays out. I’ve heard that there are unexpected elements to this story that fans won’t be expecting. So we should be in for some surprises!

The film is set in 1995 and follows Carol Danvers, an Air Force pilot whose DNA is fused with that of an alien during an accident. The resulting alteration imbues her with the superpowers of strength, energy projection, and flight. The Skrulls will also play a major part of the story as they will be invading Earth and Captain Marvel will either have to fight them or help them.

Kevin Feige also previously explained that this movie will offer a very different kind of origin story that he’s excited to show us. He also has teased that she is the most powerful character in the MCU, saying:

“She is more powerful than any character we’ve introduced thus far. So that alone tells you that there’s a reason Nick hit that button at the end [of Infinity War], when he realized that they were up against something far bigger than they had ever been up against before. And having her on your side is hopefully going to change the balance of power in a way that they desperately need.”

Captain Marvel is being directed by Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck (Mississippi Grind)The most recent script comes from Geneva Robertson-Dworet (Tomb Raider). The film also stars Ben Mendelsohn as the villain, Jude Law as Doctor Walter Lawson, a.k.a. Mar-Vell, Clark Gregg will reprise his role as Agent Coulson, and Lee Pace and Djimon Hounsou will be back as the Kree villain Ronan the Accuser and his henchman Korath the Pursuer.

The movie is set to be released on March 8th, 2019.
