CAPTAIN MARVEL Receives an A CinemaScore and Makes a Ton of Money at the Box Office

While more and more people are starting not to trust Rotten Tomatoes, CinemaScore has emerged as one of the best and most reputable means of gauging actual audience interest in a particular film.

CinemaScore has revealed that Captain Marvel has received an A. While there are a good amount of people online trashing the movie for some reason, it seems that most fans and audiences are loving Captain Marvel, which makes me happy.

I thought Marvel and the creative team did a fantastic job bringing Captain Marvel to life! As I said in my review, while it wasn’t the best movie in the franchise, it was still an absolute blast to watch! If you didn’t have fun watching this movie, I guess it just wasn’t for everyone.

for those of you who don’t k now how CinemeScore works, here’s some information:

CinemaScore has been measuring movie appeal by polling moviegoer reactions to major movie releases. The company calculates its "CinemaScore" movie grades for major movie releases in the U.S. and Canada by polling a regionally-balanced and statistically robust sample of opening night moviegoers.

A movie's overall CinemaScore can range from A+ to F. Each opening weekend, CinemaScore polls moviegoers directly at theatres across North America, including Canada. Pollsters provide audience members a ballot with six questions—including an A to F grade scale, purchase and rental interest and demographic data. To answer these questions, moviegoers bend back tabs on the CinemaScore ballot (instead of having to use a pen or pencil to fill out a questionnaire or survey). After the movie ends, audience members return their ballots to CinemaScore's pollsters, who tabulate the data and send the results immediately to CinemaScore.

It’s also being reported that the film has made $153 million over the weekend in North America. The total world wide box office comes in at $455 million! Disney distribution chief Cathleen Taff told Variety:

“With Marvel, nothing surprises me. The fans are loyal and come out. Kevin Feige continues to deliver amazing content that pushes the envelope on diversity so anyone can see themselves as a superhero.”

So, whether you hated Captain Marvel or not, it seems that the majority of audiences are loving the film!
