Captain Picard Finally Confronts Riker’s Legendary “Riker Maneuver” in Fan Fan-Made Animation
A new fan-made animated parody from NetDystopiaMusic takes on one of Star Trek: The Next Generation’s most infamous quirks: Commander Riker’s bizarre way of sitting.
Captain Picard finally calls Riker into his ready room to address crew complaints about what has been dubbed the “Riker Maneuver.”
As Picard lays it out, swinging a leg over every chair like he’s climbing onto a horse is not exactly a Starfleet regulation.
The video takes the joke even further when it’s revealed that the “confidential” complaints came from Worf, who calls it dishonorable, Geordi, who notices a strange IR glow, and Data, who compares it to a feline dominance ritual.
The parody nails the deadpan humor of Star Trek and makes it even funnier by framing the discussion like an official disciplinary meeting. Watching Picard finally confront his first officer about his overly dramatic chair habits is enetertaining.
The creator also followed up with another video where Picard tries his hand at Borderlands 44, the third remaster, while La Forge steps in to optimize the Captain’s gaming system.
Fans of Star Trek who love a good laugh are definitely going to want to check this one out.
