Captivating Trailer for Jon Hamm and Giovanni Ribisi's True Crime Thriller Series AMERICAN HOSTAGE
MGM+ has released a trailer for their upcoming series American Hostage, based on the true story previously outlined in the podcast of the same name.
The story was also told in the film Dead Man's Wire, which was released at the beginning of this year, but this series digs into the details from another perspective.
The show was created and co-written by Shawn Ryan (The Shield, The Night Agent) and Eileen Myers (Big Love, Masters of Sex, The Night Agent), with additional writing by Abby St. Clair, and episodes directed by Adam Arkin and Nina Lopez-Corrado. The cast includes Jon Hamm, Giovanni Ribisi, Mireille Enos, William Jackson Harper, and Kristoffer Polaha.
The synopsis reads: “Based on the first season of the scripted podcast of the same name, American Hostage is a psychological thriller set in the 1970s that tells the harrowing true story of Fred Heckman, a beloved Indianapolis radio reporter who is thrust into the middle of a life-or- death crisis when hostage-taker Tony Kiritsis demands to be interviewed on his popular radio news program.”
