While Lucasfilm has been pretty quiet about The Mandalorian Season 3, actor and director Carl Weathers has confirmed that he’ll be back to appear in the series and direct one of its episodes. Weathers also revealed that the creative team will start shooting next month at the Volume. While speaking at a panel during Steel City Con, he said:

"We’re gonna start a new season of The Mandalorian, within the next month. Yeah. And I get to be in front of camera again, and I get to direct again.”

From what I understand, Lucasfilm was waiting for the Obi-Wan series to wrap production on Lucasfilm’s Volume stages before they started shooting The Mandalorian Season 3. They are currently working with limited availability with the Volume.

When previously talking about the third season of series on the Star Wars Sessions podcast, stuntman Brendan Wayne shared the following:

"I think we've introduced the world in which Mando exists now. Not that there aren't going to be new things, I'm sure... I think there will be a lot less introductions, and a lot more going back towards the first season of delving deeper into the character and things like that I think. Have I read one script? No. Have I heard some things? Sure. So I'm guessing. But I can tell you this. If anyone's going to be able to continue telling a story, it's Jon [Favreau]. And raising the stakes? It's Jon."

Executive producer, writer, and director Dave Filoni also previously offered a little tease for Season 3 saying:

"There's a lot of new adventures coming up. I have to be careful, I can't really say anything specific, but I think the Force will be strong with this, let's just say that."

I imagine The Mandalorian Season 3 will bring back many of the directors that worked on the first two. I’m looking forward to seeing what the future of this series entails and how the story will progress, especially with Din Djarin and Bo-Katan. The last season set up an interesting story for them as they deal with the Darksaber. As for Grogu and Luke… I have no idea when we’ll see them again.
