Carla Gugino Joins Kathryn Newton in the Horror Comedy LISA FRANKENSTEIN
Not long ago it was announced that Diablo Cody (Juno, Jennifer’s Body) was writing a new horror comedy, titled Lisa Frankenstein, for Focus Features. Some new cast members for that film have been announced and they include Carla Gugino (The Hunting of Hill House, Gerald’s Game), Liza Soberano (Alone/Together), Joe Chrest (Stranger Things), and Henry Eikenberry (The Crowded Room).
The movie will be helmed by Zelda Williams and the new cast members will star alongside the previously announced Kathryn Newton (Freaky) and Cole Sprouse (Riverdale).
Set in 1989, Lisa Frankenstein follows “an unpopular high school student (Newton) who accidentally re-animates a handsome Victorian corpse (Sprouse) during a lightning storm and starts to rebuild him into the man of her dreams, using the broken tanning bed in her garage.”
Chrest will be playing Lisa’s father Dale, but details as to the others’ roles haven’t been revealed. The film is now in production in New Orleans.
This should be a fun flick! I’ve always enjoyed Gugino’s work, so she definitely brings some clout to the film.
