Carla Gugino to Play GONE WITH THE WIND's Vivien Leigh in Indie Drama VIVIEN & THE FLORIST

Carla Gugino (Watchmen, The Fall of the House of Usher), Matthew Modine (Stranger Things), and David Hyde Pierce (Frasier) have wrapped on the Philadelphia shoot for Vivien & The Florist, an indie drama directed by Orange Is the New Black alum Nick Sandow. Written by Jayce Bartok, Vivien & The Florist centers on a pivotal chapter in the life of screen icon Vivien Leigh, the Academy Award winner known for roles in Gone with the Wind and A Streetcar Named Desire.

Gugino stars as Leigh opposite Modine as Penn, a Philadelphia florist who forms an unexpected connection with the actress during a vulnerable period in the winter of 1966, as she prepares for her Broadway return in Chekhov’s Ivanov while privately battling bipolar disorder. Pierce portrays legendary actor-director John Gielgud, with Jack Davenport (Pirates of the Caribbean) as Laurence Olivier.

The ensemble also includes Maria Christina Oliveras (The Blacklist), Eoin Macken (La Brea), Charlie McDermott (The Middle), and Annie Grant, who makes her feature film debut.
