Cast Photo From STAR WARS: THE PHANTOM MENACE Goes Viral 18 Years After Being Taken

Even though most Star Wars fans agree that Episode I: The Phantom Menace is the worst Star Wars prequel film, it still holds a special place in all of our hearts, mostly because it symbolizes the rebirth of a saga that we all love. Now a promotional cast photo from 1999 film has resurfaced on Reddit, and it's giving the 18-year-old photo a second life.

The photo shows the film's core actors Ewan McGregor (Obi-Wan Kenobi), Liam Neeson (Qui-Gon Jinn), Natalie Portman (Padmé Amidala) and Jake Lloyd (Anakin Skywalker).

A lot has changed in the Star Wars galaxy since this photo was taken, including 2 more prequel films, an animated movie, two animated series, and 3 (soon to be 4) Disney-era films. A standalone Obi-Wan movie is in development from Disney-owned Lucasfilm, and The Last Jedi director Rian Johnson has been tapped to develop a whole new trilogy. WOW!

It's still fun to see things from this time period, when Star Wars excitement was on the rise as a new trilogy was coming and the hope that it would be something great! Little did we know...
