Casting Announcement Hints at More JSA Members and Villains in STARGIRL

We’ve been getting a lot of people announced as part of the cast of DC Universe’s Stargirl. We heard that Joel McHale will be Starman, Lou Ferrigno Jr. will be Hourman, Brian Stapf will portray Wildcat, and Henry Thomas will be Dr. Midnite. However, a new casting announcement hints at some additional members of the Justice Society of America.

According to the report, there is a listing for a married couple named Sean and Ali Miller. Fans are speculating the Millers will be Johnny Quick and Liberty Belle, and their daughter, Kerry, will be Jesse Quick. Here’s a description of the characters from Screen Rant:

Sean is described as an athletic Caucasian male in his 40s and an uber-jock, who runs the local trophy shop in Blue Valley and takes pride in selling only first place trophies. Ali is described as an Asian-American woman in her 40s, who is a gym teacher at the local high-school and an energetic, amusing soccer mom. The two are intensely devoted to their young daughter, Kerri, who is the school’s star athlete.

Another character, Arthur Matlock, is described thusly:

Described as ‘a powerful man, both through physique, mind, and heart,’ Arthur is said to be a kind-hearted man who is not afraid to use his fists to solve problems if needed. Married to a woman named Ruth with a son named Ben...

The theories are that he will be The Atom, aka Al Pratt, or potentially Green Lantern, aka Alan Scott.

Of course, every hero needs a good villain or two, and the casting announcement tells us a bit about Scott Weber who sounds like Brain Wave and Dr. Draven who is believed to be Johnny Sorrow. We are told that Weber is “a vicious telepath who is still a loving father to his son.” Meanwhile, Draven “hides his face behind a mask and conducts horrible experiments on innocent people.” Some will point out that Johnny Sorrow was a magical villain, but it’s possible that they are making some slight changes.

Who would you like to see in any of these roles?
