Casting Character Descriptions for Live-Action MICRONAUTS Movie
We’ve got some interesting news regarding Hasbro and Paramount Pictures’ Micronauts movie to share with you today concerning who the film is looking to cast in nine of the lead roles.
The film will be based on “the eponymous intergalactic explorer action figures made by Mego, based on a line by Japanese toy company Takara, that spawned a comic book series in the late 1970s and ’80s. The Marvel Comics series followed a small group of characters that formed a resistance after the dictator Baron Karza killed the royal family.”
Here’s the information regarding the characters that have found its way online:
[Female Explorer of Color] - Lead, Female. Diverse 3rd in command to a group of space explorers and the main character of the film.
[Female Leader Soldier] - Lead, Female. The leader and 1st in command to a group of space explorers.
[Male Soldier] - Lead, Male. 2nd in command to the group of space explorers.
[Teenage Male Lead] - Male (16 - 20) Lead. Think Shia/Hailee in Transformers/Bumblebee.
["Seen It alI" Explorer] - Supporting, Male.
[Alien Explorer] - Supporting, Male.
[Female Villain] - Supporting, Female.
[Lead Villian] - Supporting, Male.
[Robot Explorer] - Supporting, Male or Female.
What we know about the film so far is that Dean DeBlois, who directed Lilo and Stitch and How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World, is making his live-action feature debut, as well as adapting the script from the comic books.
This info isn’t a whole lot to go on, but it sounds like the movie is coming together, which is cool. Who would you like to see in each of these roles?
Micronauts is expected to hit theaters on June 4, 2021.
