Cate Blanchett Joining Jack Black in Eli Roth's THE HOUSE WITH A CLOCK IN ITS WALLS
Cate Blanchett is in talks to join Jack Black in The House With a Clock in Its Walls, a film adaptation of the 1973 gothic horror novel written by John Bellairs. The movie will be directed by Eli Roth.
The story is about a recently orphaned boy that moves in with his uncle. The uncle turns out to be a witch and his nephew soon finds himself caught up in a world of magic and danger. He eventually finds a clock inside the walls of his house that is designed to bring about doomsday.
Black is set to play the uncle in the film. If Blanchette signs on to the project, she will play Mrs. Zimmerman, the uncle’s neighbor and best friend, and more importantly, a fellow witch.
Blanchett will next appear as the villainess Hela in Marvel’s Thor: Ragnarok.
