Cate Blanchett Says She Sustained a Minor Chainsaw Injury to the Head in Quarantine
Quarantine has gotten us all doing things we wouldn’t typically do, with time to craft, do home improvement projects, catch up on reading, or finish things we’d been putting off. Actress Cate Blanchett has been doing the same, and even got a chainsaw involved! Unfortunately, it didn’t go as well as she hope, with a minor injury sustained.
In a recent interview with A Podcast of One's Own with Julia Gillard, Blanchett said:
I had a bit of a chainsaw accident yesterday which sounds very, very exciting but it wasn't. Apart from the little nick to my head, we're fine.
A little nick to the head sounds pretty dang scary to me! I didn’t even know that a chainsaw could create a little nick. The actress didn’t elaborate on what she was doing with the chainsaw, but did say the quarantine did not interfere with her work schedule, as it has with so many other actors, because she was already taking the year off. The host made sure to tell Blanchett to be more careful with chainsaws, as she didn’t want her to injure her famous head, and Blanchett said:
I know I want to keep it on my shoulders!
Good call!
