Cate Blanchett Wanted In On THOR: RAGNAROK After Reading This Particular Scene

Cate Blanchett is just one of many talented actors that have recently joined Marvel's cinematic universe, but there is a story to why the Academy Award-winning actress wanted in on Thor: Ragnarok.

Blanchett recently revealed to E! News, that she knew she had to be a part of Ragnarok after one specific scene was pitched to her. The scene that made all of our jaws drop in the trailer... the one where Hela destroys Thor's hammer Mjolnir.

"That had me at ‘hello,’ actually. I thought that was really exciting that they were prepared to destroy Thor’s power in the first few minutes. So, yeah, it’s a nice entrance."

The actress has already been a part of several iconic franchises, most notably Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit, so her presence in the MCU can only be welcomed by Marvel fans with open arms.

I don't know about you, but if I was asked to play a character that single handedly destroys one of the most powerful weapons in the galaxy, I wouldn't hesitate to be a part of it either.
