Benedict Cumberbatch and Jake Gyllenhaal Being Considered for Untitled Thriller Feature

Italian director Luca Guadagnino (Suspiria remake) is prepping to helm an untitled suspense thriller written by Steven Knight (Allied, Eastern Promises). Deadline reports that Benedict Cumberbatch and Jake Gyllenhaal have taken meetings with the director, and are being courted to star in the film, scheduled to begin production in early 2018.

Story details are under wraps, so little is known about the movie, but Deadline reports Cumberbatch and Gyllenhaal would likely play two old friends, one a successful businessman, the other a journalist. The film will be set in an exotic location and there will also be a "strong female lead."

Both actors have very busy schedules over the next two years, Cumberbatch is set to appear as Doctor Strange in Thor: Ragnarok and The Avengers: Infinity War. Gyllenhall has been performing on Broadway and has several movies scheduled to shoot.

Cumberbatch and Gyllenhaal would make a great on-screen team. Especially if they are trying to solve some sort of crime or mystery. Time will tell, but this movie seems like it has great potential.
