CBS Has Given the Green Light to Series Adaptation of THE EQUALIZER Starring Queen Latifah
The buzzed about series adaptation of The Equalizer, based on the hit films starring Denzel Washington, as well as the popular 1980s series, has gotten the green light at CBS. This new version of the story will star Queen Latifah, who will also executive produce. The series is being adapted and written by showrunners Andrew Marlowe and Terri Miller, who previously worked on Castle and currently work on Take Two.
The new series is described by Deadline, saying, “The Equalizer stars Queen Latifah as an enigmatic figure who uses her extensive skills to help those with nowhere else to turn. This is a new take on the character played by Edward Woodward on the original series and by Denzel Washington in the movie franchise.”
I never watched the original series, but I think the films are great, and I love Queen Latifah. I think she is a great actress, and I’m excited to see her in such a kickass role. Hopefully we will get to see the series this fall, but we will let you know when it has a date.
