CBS Rebooting THE EQUALIZER for TV With Queen Latifah Set to Star

The original 1985-1989 TV series The Equalizer was a Golden Globe-winning, multiple Emmy-nominated series that followed a retired CIA agent who became a private detective and helped clients who were at risk to equalize the playing field. The 2014 film of the same name, starring Denzel Washington, followed the same storyline, except that Washington’s character was less interested in helping others, and was more thrust into the position when he saw wrongs that he could not ignore. I loved that film, and it was so popular that it came back with a sequel last year.

Now we have a new series that will pick the story back up and switch gears with a woman in the lead role. Queen Latifah is set to star and executive produce in this new take that is being created by Andrew Marlowe and Terri Miller, who worked together on Castle and created the current series Take Two.

I will definitely check the series out when it comes to CBS. I love the movies, and I really enjoy Queen Latifah. Will you be giving the series a shot? Can you see Queen Latifah in this kind of role?
