Celebrating 12 Years of the STAR WARS Gangsta Rap
If you had or knew anyone else who had relatively fast internet back in 2001, you saw this video. Back then you may have thought you were one of the few who watched this Flash cartoon, but it ranks among the top-viewed web content of all time! Time Magazine voted it the best Online Comedy Movie the year it was released. It also scored some TV time back in the day, airing on both the Sci-Fi Channel and VH1.
The creators, Jason Brannon and Chris Crawford, went on to make sequels and a revamped version in 2004. The director of the short went on to direct and animate a video for Weird Al Yankovich as well.
