Chadwick Boseman and Trevor Noah Talk About Accents in BLACK PANTHER
Black Panther has been received very well by many fans as well as critics. It’s probably my personal favorite of the Marvel movies. It was so well done and the details are incredible. For instance, the accents. I have not spent a lot of time with people from a wide variety of African countries and therefore I do not really know their different accents. However, Trevor Noah, host of The Daily Show, is from Africa and I imagine he has a bit more experience than me in recognizing the differences.
While interviewing Chadwick Boseman about the film, Noah mentions how each character had a different African accent. That’s pretty cool in my opinion. Boseman then explains how he settled on T’Challa’s accent and how they were able to each have different accents and have it make sense. As someone who has studied linguistics, this is really fascinating to me, and you can bet that next time I watch it, I’ll be listening.
