Chadwick Boseman is Teaming Up With the Russo Brothers Again for 17 BRIDGES

I’ve really been enjoying watching Chadwick Boseman as T’Challa in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and it appears Joe and Anthony Russo have enjoyed working with him. The actor will be starring in and producing an upcoming action-thriller called 17 Bridges with the Russo brothers. Mike Larocca is executive producing, Adam Mervis is writing the film, and Brian Kirk is directing.

17 Bridges follows a disgraced NYPD detective (Boseman) who, after being thrust into a citywide manhunt for a cop killer, is given a shot at redemption.

Here’s a statement from Chairman of STXfilms, Adam Fogelson:

STX has assembled a dream team of collaborators on 17 Bridges, bringing together the global talents behind two of the biggest action films ever made to give audiences a thrilling new take on the race against the clock crime-drama. Chadwick Boseman’s razor-sharp instincts and undeniable charisma captivated millions of people around the world in Black Panther, and Joe and Anthony Russo have breathed a new energy into the action genre with films like Avengers: Infinity War. Their unique and intelligent approach to filmmaking is anything but formulaic, and with Brian Kirk at the helm directing, this film promises to go beyond the typical popcorn fare.

17 Bridges is slated to begin production this September. It sounds like it could be a great movie and I love Boseman and the Russos, so I think they can pull it off. Are you excited to learn more about the film?
