Channing Tatum and Tom Hardy Are Set to Star in Afghanistan Evacuation Film for Universal
Universal Pictures is set to produce an untitled film based on the true life drama involving the Afghanistan evacuation, which as you know, ended up being disaster. Channing Tatum and Tom Hardy are attached to star in the movie.
As far as the story that the film will focus on, it will follow “three former special forces team members who jump back into the fray alongside their Afghan counterparts, to rescue families and allies left behind amid the rapid fall of Afghanistan last August.”
I’ve read about these former special forces teams putting their lives on the line to go in and rescue the people who were left behind because no real plan was in place to get them out to safety. These former soldiers are real heroes.
I’m happy to see that their story will be told in this film that is being developed and Tatum and Hardy are going to be great in it.
Jules Daly, Tatum and Hardy will produce as well as Reid Carolin and Peter Kiernan of Free Association. The pitch for the film came from George Nolfi, who will also be executive producer.
