Channing Tatum's GAMBIT Film is the Little Engine That Could; It Now Has a Production Start Date

Fox's feature film adaptation of Gambit has gone through a ridiculous amount of production hell. But it is still managing to press forward no matter what obstacles get in its way! This movie is like the little engine that could.

Over the years, Gore Verbinski, Doug Liman, and Rupert Wyatt were all on board to direct only to drop out of the project after a little time trying to develop it. Verbinski was the last director to drop out, and the studio has yet to hire a replacement. But that isn't stopping them from setting a production date!

There's a new script that was recently turned in to the studio and according to Omega Underground, Gambit’s new production start date is June 19th. With this date being set, I imagine that the studio will announce a new director soon. Hopefully this time they stick around and finish and actually shoot the film!

Channing Tatum is still attached to star in the film and is excited to do it. There's no new release date set in stone yet, but if it goes into production in June, it'll most likely be released sometime in 2019.

I'm seriously surprised that no one has given up on this yet. Hopefully, this time everything works out. Are you happy to hear that this film project is making some headway?
