Channing Tatum's GAMBIT Movie Will Reportedly Start Shooting in February 2019
Gambit is the little Fox Marvel movie that won’t give up! This film production has faced so many problems, yet no one has given up on it. The studio wants this movie to happen and they are reportedly looking to get it into production before the Disney and Fox merger closes next summer.
According to Geeks WorldWide, the studio is pushing to the the film production up and running on February 15th, 2019 in New Orleans, Louisiana. The film was supposed to start shooting last February. Then it was delayed and eventually put on hiatus until they could figure their shit out.
I totally understand the eye rolls regarding this news. But, I love the character Gambit and if they could actually give us a decent movie based on that character, that would be awesome! It’s not like Fox isn’t capable of giving us a great Gambit movie. After all Deadpool and Logan both turned out fantastic!
Over the years, Gore Verbinski, Doug Liman, and Rupert Wyatt were all on board to direct only to drop out of the project after a little time trying to develop it. Verbinski was the last director to drop out, and the studio has yet to hire a replacement.
Channing Tatum is still attached to star in the film and is excited to do it. There's no new release date. If this Gambit movie doesn’t happen by the time Disney fully merges with Fox, whatever movie they’ve been planning is going to die and then I’m sure Marvel will eventually get around to it but not for a very very long time.
I actually kinda hope that Fox gets this movie made before Disney and Marvel take over because I’m curious to see what they are going to do with it. Would you like to see the movie get made? Do you think it will?
