Channing Tatum's GAMBIT Slated for October 2016
Channing Tatum has been talking about playing Gambit in an X-Men movie for years, and now it's officially, 100% going to happen. The Wrap reports that 20th Century Fox has set Tatum to star in a solo X-Men spin-off film, which, at least for now, is titled Gambit, and they've finally given that film a release date: October 7th, 2016. Tatum himself took to Twitter to spread the news:
So with Gambit on the horizon, what does this mean for when we'll first see Tatum suited up as the card-throwing mutant? Will he first appear in his solo movie? It's possible, but considering X-Men: Apocalypse drops in May of 2016, I'm guessing we'll see him show up in a small role or post-credits sequence a few months before he gets his own movie.
Gambit will be written by RoboCop reboot scribe Josh Zetumer, and no director has been hired yet. What do you think about Tatum taking on this role? Think he'll do a better job as Remy LeBeau than Taylor Kitsch did in X-Men Origins: Wolverine?
