Chaosium Brings AQUELARRE Tabletop RPG to the English Language

Aquelarre is an RPG that many players love, but it hasn’t been available in English until now. Chaosium recently announced that they’ve teamed with Spanish publisher Nosolorol to bring the beloved RPG to the English language.

Aquelarre takes place on the Iberian Peninsula during the Middle Ages and as such, player characters can be a part of one of five kingdoms: Castilla, Aragón, Granada, Navarra, or Portugal. In addition, characters may be a part of various cultures including Arabian, Basque, Jewish, and Muslim as well as many others. Of course, players will also have to figure out their social position and their father’s occupation as those can affect your character.

There’s also a Rationality/Irrationality rating to help determine how good with magic you are. That’s right, while this system seems to be more historical, there’s still magic and fantasy involved.

Aquelarre uses percentile dice the majority of the time as you roll against characteristic ratings or skills to determine successes or failures.
