Character Designs Revealed For Amazon's Animated Adaptation of Robert Kirkman's INVINCIBLE
Robert Kirkman recently shared a preview art of his upcoming animated adaptation of his comic book Invincible. The preview was placed in a recent reprint of Invincible #1 that was a part of Free Comic Book Day.
The art features a line-up of the main characters in the Amazon series giving a first look at their character designs. The line-up includes Omni-Man, Invincible, Atom Eve, Robot, Rex Splode, Dupli-Kate, Debbie, and Cecil.
Cory Walker, the artist who co-created the comic with Kirkman, is also involved with the series as a Lead Character Designer. As you can see, these character designs stay very close to Walker’s original renditions.
The adult animated superhero series revolves around 17-year-old Mark Grayson (Yeun), who’s just like every other guy his age — except his father is the most powerful superhero on the planet, Omni-Man (Simmons). But as Mark develops powers of his own, he discovers his father’s legacy may not be as heroic as it seems.
Steven Yeun stars in the series as Mark Grayson/Invincible, with Zazie Beetz as Mark’s girlfriend, Amber Bennett; Gillian Jacobs as Atom Eve; Seth Rogen will voice Allen the Alien; Jason Mantzoukas plays Rex Splode, J.K. Simmons will voice Omni-Man/Nolan Grayson, Sandra Oh will voice Deborah Grayson, Zachary Quinto will voice Robot, and Walton Goggins is playing Cecil Stedman. Chad Coleman, Sonequa Martin-Green, Michael Cudlitz, Lauren Cohan, Lennie James, and Ross Marquand will also lend their voices to the Guardians of the Globe.
Amazon Prime’s Invincible animated series will premiere in 2021. The first season will run for eight episodes.
