Character Details Revealed For Netflix's New Fantasy Series THE WITCHER
Thanks to The Witcher writer Lauren S. Hissrich (Daredevil), we have a long list of characters that will play a role in the series and she also offers details on each one of them. They offer some insight into the personalities of these characters. If you're familiar with the book series or the video game franchise, then some of these names should be familiar.
When previously talking about the show, Hissrich assured us that it would not be a watered down version of the story. The Witcher is pretty dark and hardcore and I'm getting excited to actually see how this series turns out.
The Witcher chronicles monster hunters who, with training and body modification, develop supernatural abilities at a young age to battle deadly beasts. Executive producers Sean Daniel and Jason Brown previously released the following statement offering some additional insight into the story:
“The Witcher stories follow an unconventional family that comes together to fight for truth in a dangerous world. The characters are original, funny and constantly surprising and we can’t wait to bring them to life at Netflix, the perfect home for innovative storytelling.”
Hissrich recently completed a draft of the script for the pilot episode and I imagine things are going to start moving on the production quickly.
I also just want to point out that I like how open Hissrich has been about the series. There is no premiere date at this time, and we also don't have any information on the cast yet, but that will all come in time. Here's a listing of the characters:
