Charlie Cox Knew For Years That He Would Return as Daredevil

After Daredevil was canceled on Netflix, we had no idea if or when we would see Charlie Cox back in the role of Daredevil. We all hoped he’d be back, Marvel fans launched a “Save Daredevil” campaign, and then rumors started to swirl that he would. All of a sudden, boom! He made his big return in Spider-Man: No Way Home, solidifying his place in the MCU.

On top of that, Kingpin was introduced back in the MCU in the Hawkeye series, which was awesome. So things are happening with these Daredevil characters, we just don’t know where it’s all leading. But, I can’t wait to see!

Anyway, it turns out that Cox has known that he would be back as Daredevil for years. In a recent interview with THRIron Fist star Jessica Henwick was asked about the possibility of returning as Colleen Wing. In her answer, she revealed this bit of info about Cox:

"If I did [Shang-Chi], I would effectively be putting Colleen to bed. It wasn't the main factor, but it definitely came up in conversation. I love Colleen. She changed my life. Of course, if I was given the opportunity to revisit her, I would, but I just don't know how likely that is. Charlie [Cox] knew about that opportunity years ago. He already knew it was happening. I think I would have heard by now if there were any plans with Colleen."

Tom Holland also talked to Marvel.com about Cox's cameo in Spider-Man: No Way Home, calling the experience of working with him awesome:

"We had so much fun working with Charlie. It's really interesting doing a scene between two Super Heroes that has no real Super Hero stuff in it. Apart from the bit when he catches the brick. It was awesome. But it was great. I loved working with Charlie."

What do you think the future holds for Daredevil in the MCU?
