Charlie Cox Reveals Tom Hiddleston Was Set to Direct an Episode of DAREDEVIL: BORN AGAIN Season 1 Before Its Shakeup
It’s widely known that the first season of Daredevil: Born Again was almost completely scrapped a few weeks into its production, and new writers were hired to take it in the direction we eventually saw it unfold in.
The season turned out great, and built into a second season that fans are just as happy with, if not more. While that rearranging cost a lot of money and time, it seems like it really paid off. But one big loss of the shakeup was a director who was originally set to take on an episode.
In a recent interview on the Happy Sad Confused podcast, star of the show Charlie Cox explained, "The first season of Born Again, before the strike, was going to be 18 episodes.
“Tom [Hiddleston] was going to direct one of the episodes. One of the great losses on the back half of that original season. Even though the changes that were made to that show were needed, necessary, and made it much better, but he was going to direct episode 12 or something. We were already on the phone collaborating, we had ideas."
It’s too bad that our beloved Loki actor Tom Hiddleston didn’t get his chance to step behind the camera and bring his vision to life, but maybe he will still get the opportunity to do so in the future.
In the meantime, we can expect to see Hiddleston back in action as the God of Mischief in this winter’s Avengers: Doomsday, in theaters on December 18, 2026.
