Charlize Theron Enjoys Kicking Ass in This First Clip From Netflix's THE OLD GUARD
Want to watch Charlize Theron kick some ass? Netflix has released the first clip from their upcoming action-adventure thriller The Old Guard, which features Theron as a badass immortal warrior as she joyfully fights Kiki Layne on an airplane. As you’ll see, Theron flashes a few smiles throughout the fight.
The movie is based on the graphic novel series by Greg Rucka and illustrated by Leandro Fernandez. Gina Prince-Bythewood (Love & Basketball, The Secret Life of Bees, and Beyond the Lights) is directing the film adaptation from a script written by Rucka.
The Old Guard is described as “a gritty, grounded, action-packed story that shows living forever is harder than it looks.” It also stars Marwan Kenzari, Luca Marinelli, Harry Melling, Van Veronica Ngo, with Matthias Schoenaerts, and Chiwetel Ejiofor. Here’s the synopsis for the film:
Forever is harder than it looks. Led by a warrior named Andy (Charlize Theron), a covert group of tight-knit mercenaries with a mysterious inability to die have fought to protect the mortal world for centuries. But when the team is recruited to take on an emergency mission and their extraordinary abilities are suddenly exposed, it’s up to Andy and Nile (Kiki Layne), the newest soldier to join their ranks, to help the group eliminate the threat of those who seek to replicate & monetize their power by any means necessary.
