Charlize Theron is Having a Rough Time Being a Mom in Jason Reitman's New Comedy TULLY
The first teaser trailer has been released for director Jason Reitman's new comedy Tully, which stars Charlize Theron. The two worked together on the film Young Adult, which I enjoyed. I like the films of Reitman (Juno, Up in the Air), and even though this next film is supposed to be a comedy about what it's like to be a mom, it kinda looks depressing!
Charlize Theron plays Marlo, a mother of three including a newborn, who is barely making it through each day. She "is gifted a night nanny by her brother (Mark Duplass). Hesitant to the extravagance at first, Marlo comes to form a unique bond with the thoughtful, surprising, and sometimes challenging young nanny named Tully (Mackenzie Davis)."
This is definitely a different kind of character for Charlize Theron, who has been making some fun badass action movies recently like Fury Road, Furious 7, and Atomic Blonde. It doesn't look like she'll be kicking much ass in this movie, but it still looks like an interesting flick that should turn out to be good.
Tully was written by Diablo Cody and it also stars Ron Livingston (Office Space). It's set to open on April 20, 2018.
