Charlize Theron Tries To Hold It Together as a Mom in Full Trailer For TULLY
A full trailer has been released for director Jason Reitman and Diablo Cody's new film Tully. This film takes us into the world of a mother of three kids, played by Charlize Theron, who is trying to hold it together for her family. This film doesn't hold back on showing us how hard it is to be a mom or a parent in general. As a father of three girls, and experiencing what my own wife had to go through, this is a film that I was able to relate to. I had a chance to see it at Sundance earlier this year and you can read my review for it here.
Theron plays Marlo, and she is gifted a night nanny by her brother (Mark Duplass) to help out with her newborn baby. She doesn't want to take advantage of it, but there comes a breaking point for her and she ends up making the call. Marlo and the night nanny, Tully, end up forming a very strong relationship and Tully begins to help get Marlo’s life back in order. It's kinda like a modern day Mary Poppins.
This movie has a few twists and turns and ends up going in a surprising, unexpected direction. The movie isn't for everyone. It'll mostly connect with anyone who has kids, and if you don't have kids, the movie may make you want to hold off on having any kids for awhile. The movie doesn't make parenthood look very glamorous... at all!
Tully will be released on April 20th.
