Charlize Theron Would "Love to" Come Back For Another MAD MAX Movie

Director George Miller has offered up various updates on his future Mad Max: Fury Road films, which have said to be both prequels and sequels. He's got lots of ideas, but the main one revolves around Charlize Theron's Furiosa.

One of the last things we heard was that Miller is in pre-development on a prequel film that would focus on Furiosa's backstory. This is a film I'd love to see happen, but is Theron up for it? You bet she is! In an interview with Variety, she was asked if she would reprise her role and this is what she said:

“I’d love to. There were three scripts. They were written as back stories to Max’s character and to Furiosa’s character. But at the end of the day, this thing lives and breathes with [director] George [Miller]. I think Warner Bros. knows that. We are all waiting for him to show us the way.”

Miller has previously said that he wants to make at least two more Mad Max films and that he would love to tell the story of Furiosa because she's such a compelling character. Tom Hardy is also signed on to do two more films. I'm not sure how Max would fit into a prequel story that focuses on Furiosa, unless there's a separate parallel story that deals with Max in the same time period.

The actress went on to talk about preparing for the role the first time around and shaving her head, saying:

“I had just finished a big press tour. I’d come home — I was just so done with hair and makeup. The idea of going into a desert for 140 days, and having to do hair and makeup every single day. I was so excited about diving into this character, I didn’t want anything to hold me back from that. It think it came from that — just pure exhaustion from hair and makeup. How do I eliminate everything I possibly can and get straight to the business at hand?”

Hopefully, Miller is really in pre-development on the prequel and gets around to shooting it! There are a ton of fans out there who are waiting for Miller to make another Badass Mad Max movie!
