Charlize Theron's ATOMIC BLONDE 2 Is Being Discussed and It May End Up on a Streaming Service
Charlize Theron’s Atomic Blonde was a pretty badass action-packed and stylish flick. I enjoyed it and I wouldn’t mind seeing a sequel where the character, Lorraine Broughton, comes back to kick some more ass! She was a fun character, and Theron was awesome in the role!
Well, according to the films director David Leitch, who recently helmed Hobbs & Shaw, there is still talk of a sequel, and according to /Film, that sequel may end up bring produced by one of the streaming services out there like Netflix or Hulu. The filmmaker wouldn’t confirm this when asked about it in an interview, but he did say:
I think there is [still talk of a sequel]. I don’t know all the details. I was a work-for-hire on that movie, but at the end of the day, Kelly McCormick – my producing partner and my wife – she will be involved, I’m sure, as a producer. That’s how I got the gig in the first place. We’ll see.
There’s also no word on if Theron will come back to reprise her role, but I certainly hope she does! It’s hard to imagine anyone else taking on the character. Theron put a ton of hard work and went through some brutal training and stunt work to bring this character to life in the best way possible. It’d be a shame if she didn’t come back, and honestly, I don’t see the point in making a sequel if she’s not involved.
But if she does jump on board, I’ll gladly watch another insane action-packed adventure for this character! What about you?
