Charming and Cool Clip From the STAR TREK: PRODIGY Animated Series
Paramount+ has released a great new clip from its upcoming animated series Star Trek: Prodigy. I’ve actually been impressed with everything that I’ve from this show! I know it’s targeted to kids, but they put a lot of work into making this a high-quality production, and it seems like the kind of show I’d enjoy watching. It’d definitely be a fun show to watch with kids, but my kids are teenagers now, and there’s no way they’ll sit down with me to watch a Star Trek animated series!
In the clip, we see two of the main characters in the series meeting on a ship and powering it up. 17-year-old Dal (Brett Gray) and eight-year-old Rok-Tahk (Rylee Alazraqui) speak to each other for the first time here after they realize that when the ship is powered-up they can understand what the other is saying. The exchange they have is quite charming.
The series follows “a motley crew of young aliens who must figure out how to work together while navigating a greater galaxy, in search for a better future. These six young outcasts know nothing about the ship they have commandeered – a first in the history of the Star Trek franchise – but over the course of their adventures together, they will each be introduced to Starfleet and the ideals it represents.”
The voice cast members also include Kate Mulgrew as Hologram Janeway, Ella Purnell as Gwyn, Angus Imrie as Zero, Dee Bradley Baker as Murf, and Jason Mantzoukas as Jankom Pog.
The series was developed by Kevin and Dan Hageman (Trollhunters and Ninjago), with Alex Kurtzman, Heather Kadin, Katie Krentz, Rod Roddenberry, and Trevor Roth on board as executive producers.
Star Trek: Prodigy premieres on Paramount+ on October 28; after the series concludes, it will then begin airing on Nickelodeon.
