Charming Trailer for FISHERMAN'S FRIENDS, Based on a True Story of Music and Friendship in a Small Irish Town
I have a lovely trailer for you all to check out today for an upcoming film called Fisherman’s Friends. The film is based on a true story, and the trailer is an absolute delight. The film is directed by Chris Foggin (Kids In Love), and stars Daniel Mays (Rogue One: A Star Wars Story), James Purefoy (A Knight’s Tale), David Hayman (The Boy in the Striped Pajamas), Dave Johns (The Keeper), Sam Swainsbury (Victoria), Tuppence Middleton (Sense8), Maggie Steed (EastEnders), Vahid Gold (Emerald City), Christian Brassington (Poldark), and Noel Clarke (Doctor Who).
Here’s the synopsis:
A fast living, cynical London music executive (Daniel Mays) heads to a remote Cornish village on a stag weekend where he's pranked by his boss (Noel Clarke) into trying to sign a group of shanty singing fishermen (led by James Purefoy). He becomes the ultimate "fish out of water" as he struggles to gain the respect or enthusiasm of the unlikely boy band and their families (including Tuppence Middleton) who value friendship and community over fame and fortune. As he's drawn deeper into the traditional way of life he's forced to reevaluate his own integrity and ultimately question what success really means.
The film was written by Meg Leonard and Nick Moorcroft. This looks like such a fun film that is so full of heart. I am really looking forward to it. Check out the trailer and poster below, and see Fisherman’s Friends in theaters May, 2020.
