Charming Trailer for New Disney+ Series DIARY OF A FEMALE PRESIDENT
We’ve got a super fun trailer for you guys today for the Disney+ series Diary of a Female President. The show tells the story of a female president, played by Gina Rodriguez (Jane the Virgin), who reflects on her childhood and teen years through the diaries she kept. Rodriguez will also co-executive produce, as well as direct the first episode. The series also stars Tess Romero (Anya), newcomer Charlie Bushnell, Selenis Leyva (Orange Is the New Black), and Michael Weaver (Here and Now).
The series is created by Ilana Peña and is based on her childhood. The synopsis says:
Diary of a Female President is a 10-episode series told through the narration of a 12-year-old Cuban-American girl’s diary as she navigates the ups and downs of middle school and her journey to becoming the future president of the United States.
I’m really excited to watch this with my daughter. It looks really funny and relatable. Check out the trailer below, and start watching Diary of a Female President on Disney+ on January 17th.
