New Photos of Idris Elba and Andy Serkis From The Upcoming Movie LUTHER: THE FALLEN SUN
A couple of cool new photos have been released from the film Luther: The Fallen Sun, based on the hit crime series Luther, which ran on the BBC from 2010-2019. In the show, Idris Elba played DCI John Luther, a near-genius murder detective whose brilliant mind can't always save him from the dangerous violence of his passions. The Fallen Sun picks up where the show left off, with Luther in handcuffs and a longtime nemesis-turned-partner presumably dead, or is she?
The series was created and written by Neil Cross, who’s also behind the screenplay of the upcoming film. Jamie Payne, who directed all four episodes of the fifth season is helming the film as well.
The film also stars Cynthia Erivo (Widows, Wicked), and Dermot Crowley returns as DSU Martin Schenk. This new story also introduces us to the villainous millionaire David Robey (Andy Serkis), a man tapping into zeitgeist fears of our tech spying on us and the potential of the dark web. Robey has tangled with Luther before and been ignored. Now he uses tech as surveillance, discovering secrets that enable him to manipulate others.
