Check Out How Much Popular LEGO Sets Cost In Other Countries
It’s no secret that LEGO is a wildly popular toy world wide. Coming from humble origins as simple blocks for building it has grown to have incredibly intricate sets and very talented people using them as a medium to build some incredible things. But have you ever wondered how much LEGOs cost around the world?
TheToyZone recently did a study looking at the cost of 8 different popular LEGO sets across roughly 200 countries and I am personally blown away at the results. I was expecting a difference obviously, but I was not prepared for how vast the difference is. TheToyZone found a 744% difference in the average price of LEGO in the most and least expensive markets. The cheapest place in the world to buy LEGO was Belgium where the average price of the sets is $269 while Argentina was the most expensive coming in at $2,270 on average.
The average in the United States was $349, about $50 more than in Canada. Funny enough, Denmark, the birthplace of LEGO, was only the second cheapest in Europe and fourth cheapest in the world at $287. I normally would take issue with them only using the sometimes misleading average, but their complete results do a breakdown of the cost of each LEGO set they studied and it does do away with using the average and instead just compares costs straight across.
This was honestly fascinating to read through and I recommend looking through the full study results. Each of the maps are super fun to look at when they break it down by set because each map is themed around the set. How does your country fare in prices? Are you thinking about crossing a border to get a better deal on LEGO?
