Check Out This Great ROGUE TROOPER Fan Film Called THE QUARTZ MASSACRE

A group of fans got together to create a fan film based on the classic 80s comic book series Rogue Trooper which was created by Gerry Finley-Day and Dave Gibbons. For those of you not familiar with the comic, here's a summary:

It follows the adventures of Rogue, a "Genetic Infantryman", a genetically created, blue-skinned, manufactured super soldier and his three comrades' search for the Traitor General. His comrades are in the form of biochips – onto which a G.I.'s entire personality is downloaded at the time of death for later retrieval – and are named Gunnar (mounted on Rogue's rifle), Bagman (on his backpack) and Helm (on his helmet). He is genetically engineered to be immune to almost all known toxins, can submerge in strong acid unaffected, and is able to withstand a vacuum in his bare skin.

The short film is called Rogue Trooper: The Quartz Massacre and this is the synopsis:

Souther and Nordland forces have been locked in war for decades on Nu-Earth. The war has turned this planet toxic. Genetic Infantrymen designed to survive the poisonous atmosphere are deployed in a surprise offensive. The plan is leaked. The Nort Kashan Legion are prepared and waiting for the attack. The GI's don't stand a chance. They are ambushed in the Quartz Zone and are massacred.

The short was directed by Adam Kirley and it actually turned out really good for a fan film. There's a lot of passion behind the development of this project, which was self-funded, and I think fans of the comic series will enjoy it. Director Duncan Jones has said that he would be interested in making a film based on 2000 AD property.
