Check Out This Map Of The Most Popular Video Game Console In Every Country

The holidays are around the corner and with them come the mad scramble for gift buying. TheToyZone analyzed Google Search volumes in order to track down what the most popular console in every country is. Four of the top five most searched for toys are video game consoles and of those the PS5 gets the most monthly searches on average.

In fact, the only non console toy among the top 5 most searched is LEGO. It looks like the Nintendo Switch wins the popularity contest however coming in as the most uniquely popular console in 69 countries. These infographics are always fun, but I do have to wonder at the methodology. Given the difficulty people have had in acquiring the PS5, I wonder how many searches are done by people simply trying to acquire the console.

It would be interesting to see the exact searches researched to see if they have sifted out people simply searching if a game is on a certain console. Regardless, it’s still fun to see which countries are enjoying which consoles the most.
