Chill Out with Your Crew and Play YU-GI-OH! SPEED DUELS with New GX Box Product Coming
Update: The official title for the product is Speed Duel GX: Duel Academy Box, the release date has been changed to February 25, and an official image has been added.
One form of the Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG that fans are enjoying despite its lack of support lately is Speed Duels. This is a faster and smaller version of the game that is essentially analog Duel Links. Las year’s Speed Duel: Battle City Box was a huge hit and it looks like Konami is hoping lightning strikes twice. The team recently announced Speed Duel Box featuring Yu-Gi-Oh! GX which will launch on February 25, 2022 with an MSRP of $29.99. This is going to be the same type of experience with 200 static cards in the box for up to 8 players to use and instantly have a small tournament experience. This is a really great way for Speed Duels to grow and the new box will feature cards for strategies based on Jaden Yuki (Elemental HERO), Aster Phoenix (probably Destiny HERO), Dr. Crowler (I assume Ancient Gear), and more. There will be brand new Skill cards for Duelists to utilize as well as Secret Rare variants of GX-era cards.
My guess is that we’ll also see Cyber Dragon and/or Cyber Dark for Zane, Roids for Syrus, Armed Dragon and/or Ojama for Chazz, and I’m not sure what Bastion or Alexis would bring to the table. What do you hope to see in the new Speed Duels box?
