Chilling Trailer for Netflix’s True Crime Serial Killer Series THE MONSTER OF FLORENCE
Netflix just has released a full trailer for The Monster of Florence, a new four-part Italian crime series from director Stefano Sollima (Sicario: Day of the Soldado, ZeroZeroZero), and this looks like it’s going to take audiences on a dark and chilling journey..
This true crime drama dives deep into one of the most disturbing and drawn-out serial killer investigations in Italy’s history.
Between the late 1960s and 1985, a killer dubbed “The Monster of Florence” terrorized the countryside outside the city, targeting young couples in remote, wooded areas. Sixteen people were brutally murdered. The case remains unsolved to this day, clouded by decades of conflicting theories, botched leads, and public obsession.
In the series, rather than fixating on a single suspect or linear plotline, it peels back the layers of an investigation riddled with uncertainty. The show “explores the many possible monsters investigated over time and also focuses on their point of view.”
The cast includes Marco Bullitta, Valentino Mannias, Francesca Olia, Liliana Bottone, Giacomo Fadda, Antonio Tintis, and Giordano Mannu.
If the teaser is anything to go by, The Monster of Florence promises a moody, atmospheric dive into one of Europe’s most infamous cold cases.
The series will premiere on October 22, timed to mark the 10th anniversary of Netflix's launch in Italy.
