Chloe Moretz Joins Tilda Swinton and Dakota Johnson in SUSPIRIA Remake

A remake of Dario Argento's psychedelic horror film Suspiria has been brewing for years, and it finally seems as if it's closer than ever to actually making it through the gauntlet of pre-production. Once the project finally found a director in Luca Guadagnino (A Bigger Splash), it attracted stars like Tilda Swinton and Dakota Johnson and earned financing and distribution from Amazon.

Variety reports that Chloe Moretz has signed on to join the project, and with the addition of the young actress, the project reportedly has an official greenlight. Production is slated to begin this month in Italy and Hungary. Mia Goth (Nymphomaniac) is also a part of the cast.

Moretz recently announced that she was slowing down in her career and reassessing her choices when it comes to roles she decides to take, and this is her first project since that statement. Taking a project like this with a director like Guadagnino (who has a distinct visual eye) should be a step in the right direction for her, especially if they're able to put their own stamp on Suspiria and turning it into one of the horror remakes that actually works well as opposed to those that are completely forgotten about a year or two after they arrive.
