Chris Evans Confirms He's Done With Captain America After AVENGERS 4

We all knew that the day would come when Chris Evans would no longer play Captain America in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. At this point, the biggest surprise that could come from these next two Avengers films for me is if Captain America actually comes out of it alive!

After Avengers 4 closes out Phase 3, the MCU is going to be a very new and completely different thing. There are going to be big drastic changes and there are heroes that we may never see again. It looks like Chris Evan's version of Captain America is one of them. The actor recently confirmed in an interview with New York Times that Avengers 4 will be his last MCU film. The report says:

Last year, he filmed back-to-back the final two Marvel movies for which he is under contract — Avengers: Infinity War, due in April, and a sequel planned for next year. For now, he has no plans to return to the franchise (“You want to get off the train before they push you off,” he said), and expects that planned reshoots in the fall will mark the end of his tenure in the familiar red, white and blue super suit.

The big question is, how will Captain America's star arc actually come to an end? We don't know, but we do see him engage in hand to hand combat with Thanos in the recent trailer for Avengers: Infinity War. Thanos seemed pretty impressed by his strength, but there's no way Cap is going to be able to stop him. I don't necessarily think that Cap dies in this moment, but he's definitely going to get jacked up.

Look, I'm ok with moving forward without Captain America, Iron Man and whoever else ends up dying. It's good to know that there will be real life and death stakes in these upcoming movies. As long as the future films that Marvel makes continue to tell top notch and interesting stories with interesting characters, I'll be happy.

What do you think is going to happen with Captain America in the films? Will he live? Will he die? If so how!?
