Chris Evans Has Joined Emily Blunt in Netflix Drama Film PAIN HUSTLERS With David Yates Directing
Chris Evans (Captain America) has joined the cast of the Netflix drama Pain Hustlers, in which he will star alongside Emily Blunt (A Quiet Place, Jungle Cruise). David Yates (Harry Potter) is directing the picture, which was the hottest sale at this year’s Cannes market, commanding a price tag in excess of $50 million.
The movie’s official logline reads: “Dreaming of a better life for her and her young daughter, Liza Drake (Blunt), a high-school dropout, lands a job with a failing pharmaceutical start-up in a yellowing strip mall in Central Florida. Liza’s charm, guts and drive catapult the company and her into the high life, where she soon finds herself at the center of a criminal conspiracy with deadly consequences.” Tonally, it’s said to be in the spirit of American Hustle and The Big Short in its look at the American dream turned acrid.
This sounds a lot like the movie Joy starring Jennifer Lawrence. That was based on a true story, but it sounds like this story takes a turn for the worse instead of just staying on the upward trajectory. Pain Hustlers has a solid story with great people on board, so I look forward to checking it out. What about you?
