Chris Evans in Talks to Star in Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde Movie for Lionsgate

Captain America star Chris Evans is currently in talks to join Lionsgate's Jekyll, which will be based on Steven Moffat's 2007 BBC series. The series continued the events of Robert Louis Stevenson’s Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. If cast, Evans will take on the lead role of Tom JackmanIf you aren't familiar with the series, it was officially described as follows:

It’s 2007 and there’s a new Dr Jekyll, with an old problem: Mr Hyde. But they have a deal – a body share – and an impossible life is somehow lived.
What Hyde doesn’t know, however, is that Jackman is married, and there’s a wife and two children he’ll do anything to protect from his dark side. With all the resources of modern technology, and the best surveillance hardware, he’s determined to keep his dark side in line.
He’s done a deal with his own devil. But neither of them know that an ancient organisation with limitless wealth and power is monitoring their every move, and a plan over a century in the making is coming to fruition. The return of Dr Jekyll is no accident…

The film is being produced by Ellen DeGeneres and Jeff Kleeman through their A Very Good Production banner. They've hired Anthony Bagarozzi and Charles Mondry to write the script based on Moffat's six-episode miniseries. That writing team has recently worked with director Shane Black on The Nice Guys and Doc Savage, as well as the remake of Death Note.

Evans is next set to appear in the Marc Webb-directed film Gifted, and then he'll jump back into the Marvel universe with Avengers: Infinity War - Part 1.  I enjoy Evans' work, and it's always nice to see him take on a project outside of Marvel. It'd be cool to see him take on this Jekyll gig.
