Chris Evans Says AVENGERS: ENDGAME Brings an End to Captain America's Story Arc

For years fans have been speculating about how Steve Rogers, a.k.a. Captain America’s, story arc would come to an end. Hell, a lot of fans thought that he was going to bite the dust in Avengers: Infinity War, but to everyone’s surprise… he lived!

Now, a lot of those fans are speculating that Cap will die sacrificing his life to save the world in Avengers: Endgame. While that is very well possible, I’m starting to think that Marvel isn’t going to kill him off just yet. But there is a wonderful story arc that we’ve been following since Captain America: The First Avenger, and that arc will come to a close in Endgame. Hell, the movie is sure to close out the story arcs for many of the characters! After all, this film brings an end of the 22-film Infinity Saga.

During a recent press event for the film, Evans was asked about the arc of the character and he told CB:

“I can give broad strokes. I think it’s the completion of the arc. That’s safe to say, right? This movie does provide kind of an ending to a lot of…”

At that point, director Joe Russo cut the actor off before he went too far. Apparently he cut him off with a game show buzzer sound, which gave everyone a good laugh. Evans went on to say:

“There’s a 22-film tapestry, you know. He’s been through so much, specifically…”

At that point, Jon Favreau jumped in saying, “Let’s just talk about Scott Pilgrim,” which made Brie Larson perk up and add, “Yeah, let’s talk about that!” In case you forgot, Larson had a role in the film Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World.

Now, just because Cap,s story arc is coming to an end doesn’t mean they are going to kill him off. But, who knows!? Maybe they will! Captain America is one of my favorite characters in the MCU, so I hope they don’t, but I trust the Russo Bros. and Kevin Feige, so whatever they do in bringing Cap’s story to a close, I know it’s going to be good.

How do you think Captain America’s arc is going to end?

Avengers: Endgame arrives in theaters on April 26, 2019.
